Eagles vs. 49ers inactives: Final injury reports for NFC Championship Game
Somewhere, Duane ‘The Rock’ Johnson is standing in a WWE wrestling ring screaming “Finally…” into a microphone. If he isn’t he should be. We’ve finally navigated the long week that separates last week’s win by the Philadelphia Eagles over the New York Giants in the NFC Divisional Round from the coming battle, an NFC Championship Game versus the San Francisco 49ers. We’ve come a long way from Philly and San Fran’s meeting in Week 2 last season.
Many have described these proud franchises as the two most talented teams in the National Football Conference all season. It’s no surprise that either team is here.
A trip to Glendale, Arizona and an appearance in Super Bowl LVII is on the line. The stakes couldn’t be any higher. This is officially must-see television.
Here are the final injury reports and inactives lists for both the Eagles and 49ers ahead of the NFC Championship Game.
The Eagles couldn’t be any healthier than they are right now. That’s all that you can ask for in an 18-week, 17-game season. Right tackle Lane Johnson and Avonte Maddox are both active for Sunday’s game. Both were full participants during Philly’s final practice session of the week after being ‘limited’ on Wednesday and Thursday. Other than T.J. Edwards being limited in Friday’s practice session with an ankle issue, Philly’s injury report is clean. T.J. is expected to play on Sunday.
The Niners have injury concerns of their own. Running back Elijah Mitchell and cornerback Ambry Thomas are questionable for Sunday’s game. Offensive tackle Trent Williams, running back Christian McCaffrey, linebacker Charles Omenihu, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel all sat out or were limited at some point during the week, but all are expected to play on Sunday.
Final game inactives by both teams will be released by both teams 90 minutes ahead of kickoff. Bookmark this one. We’ll list both reports below when they are made available.
Update: Saturday, January 28th at 4:09 p.m. EST
The Eagles announce the elevation of Anthony Harris from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of the NFC Championship Game.
