Eagles news: Coloring books are reducing stress before NFC Championship
By Bruce Ewing
Color every Philadelphia Eagles fan excited. The NFC Championship Game is upon us, and the Birds are one win away from Super Bowl LVII. The only thing standing in their way is the San Francisco 49ers. The visiting team is riding a 12-game winning streak. Their quarterback hasn’t lost a game yet. Times like these can be quite stressful, but the local newspaper knows just what to do.
To celebrate the Eagles’ latest trip to the NFC Championship, The Philadelphia Inquirer published a series of Eagles-themed coloring book pages after ‘Eagles coloring pages’ started trending on Google. The downloadable series features a collection of images inspired by staff photographers and drawn by their illustrators. Pages feature familiar faces like Dallas Goedert, Jason Kelce, and even head coach Nick Sirianni.

Here’s a great way to relax before the Philadelphia Eagles play for the NFC Championship.
If you’re wondering why ‘coloring pages’ would be trending right now, here’s a quick explanation. Studies show that there are tremendous health benefits that can be attached to enjoying a good old-fashioned coloring book. Check out Mayo Clinic Health System’s feature titled Coloring is good for your health when you get a moment.
Coloring is and always has been a healthy way to relieve stress. It calms the brain and helps your body relax. This can improve sleep and fatigue while decreasing body aches, heart rate, respiration, and feelings of depression and anxiety.
The adult coloring book trend has spread nationwide. Some have even made it on the New York Times bestsellers list. If the Philadelphia Eagles offense can just do its part by keeping Joey Bosa away from Jalen Hurts and if the defense does its part by keeping Christian McCaffrey out of the end zone, the Birds will help ease stress levels everywhere.
It won’t be easy. Pass the crayons please. A Super Bowl berth is on the line.
