Philadelphia Eagles will meet Andy Reid, Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII
It began almost one full year ago. Following a tough Philadelphia Eagles loss in Tampa versus the Buccaneers, our attention shifted to the Senior Bowl, the NFL Scouting Combine, and eventually college Pro Days. At about the same time, the early additions of what would become a 53-man roster were added during free agency. An NFL Draft followed. Eventually, we landed in training camp and the preseason.
It seems like all of that was forever ago. Truly, it actually wasn’t. There have been ups and downs, but we made it! The Eagles are in the Super Bowl.
The Philadelphia Eagles meet their former head coach, Andy Reid, and the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.
Entering the postseason, the goals for the Philadelphia Eagles couldn’t have been any clearer. As the top-seeded team, they earned a bye during the Wild Card Round. A three-game winning streak would earn them their second Vince Lombardi Trophy. They snagged the first two. One more win will close the show.
Philadelphia’s first win of the postseason was a 38-7 triumph in the Divisional Round over the hated New York Giants. Ironically, it came five years to the day after the NFC Championship win over the Minnesota Vikings on January 21st of 2018. The score on that evening was, you guessed it, 38-7 in favor of Philadelphia.
The magic continued in the NFC Championship Game.
With Philly’s 31-7 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers, they have claimed the George Halas Trophy. Their next opponent is the winner of the AFC Championship Game and the Lamar Hunt Trophy, the Kansas City Chiefs.
They won a thriller at Arrowhead Stadium by a score of 23-20, and with that, the stage is set. Philadelphia will represent the National Football Conference as its champion. The Chiefs will represent the American Football Conference. The winner of that game takes the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Andy Reid leads Kansas City into battle versus the team he once led for 14 seasons. Football’s biggest game will take place on February 12th at 6:30 p.m. EST. The venue is State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Watch this one on FOX.
