Mention words like ‘karma’, ‘mojo’, ‘bad juju’, or ‘jinxes’, and it’s almost comical to see how people react. Talk to Philadelphia Eagles fans, and you’ll quickly learn that their theories on that type of thing will be all over the place. To some extent, we get it. You reap what you sow, whether you want to realize that or not. Try planting apple seeds when you get a moment. Let us know if the harvest reaps anything other than apples, but on the other end of that spectrum, we all realize that kickers who are enjoying a healthy stretch of made field goal attempts won’t miss simply because an announcer mentions said streak… right?

Baseball is full of superstition. For instance, there’s that thing about never saying anything to a pitcher who’s on the verge of tossing a no-hitter, so what would baseball fans state if they knew a former pitcher donned the jersey of a team that plays in the city that he’ll face on football’s biggest stage? That wouldn’t mean anything, would it?

We dug up something recently. We’ll allow you guys to be judges.

Check out Patrick Mahomes rocking some Phillies gear once upon a time. Might some bad mojo help lift the Eagles to a win on Super Bowl Sunday?

It’s well known that it’s commonplace for NFL quarterbacks to have a little;e baseball experience in their background. Look no further than Jameis Winston, Kyler Murray, or the starting quarterbacks in Super Bowl LVII (Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts) if you need evidence of that one.

Let’s step under the replay booth for a moment though. Let’s rewind the tape. Does anyone remember that time Patrick Mahomes found his way into the 2012 Texas Scouts North-South All-Star Game Showcase at Minute Maid Park?

Instagram and Snapchat weren’t really a thing then, but don’t worry we have footage.

Yep, that’s a young man that would wind up being the Kansas City Chiefs franchise quarterback in full Phillies gear. Rumor has it that a nine-year-old Mahomes once picked the Eagles to win Super Bowl XXXIX over the New England Patriots.

Is this bad mojo for the Chiefs? You decide!

While common sense tells us that this won’t help the Eagles win a football game, there are enough people who have bought into this one that we thought it was worth a mention. We aren’t that superstitious, nor should you be. You have to admit though. This is pretty doggone funny. Kickoff approaches, and we have come to the realization that we may be running out of things to dissect.  Bring on the game already.

Hot. Eagles hired former Chiefs adversary ahead of Super Bowl. light
