Eagles free agency: One player worth adding from every NFC Team
Here are four impending free agents that might interest the Eagles come March.
Nicholas Morrow, linebacker, Chicago Bears
There’s a possibility that the Eagles could lose both of the top two running backs from the 2022-2023 depth chart (Miles Sanders and Boston Scott). Landing someone like David Montgomery would certainly soften the blow, but our fear is he’s overrated.
Think about it. The Chicago Bears are always seemingly in need of some offensive punch, and with that being the case, they phased Montgomery out in favor of Khalil Herbert.
It’s for that reason that we’d rather a move be made for Nicholas Morrow. The math is simple. If Kyzir White is lost to free agency, Nicholas Morrow would make for an easy transition.
Jamaal Williams, running back, Detroit Lions
If we’re being honest, we could piece together a list of the top 100 impending free agents and never mention anyone from the Lions. Could we state D.J. Chark, Mike Hughes, and Jamaal Williams are their top three? That’s fair right?
Honestly, we’d rather have Boston Scott back for another year than sign Jamaal Williams, but for whatever reason, it just feels like we’ve always valued Scott more than the Eagles do.
Allen Lazard, wide receiver, Green Bay Packers
Here’s an idea. Rather than try to pretend that Tyree Jackson is something that he isn’t, why not just sign someone like Allen Lazard, a guy that has already grown into what we hope Tyree can become?
Guys look a lot better when Aaron Rodgers is throwing them the ball, but at six-foot-five and 227 pounds, Lazard would provide another option on third down and in the red zone. He’s also one of the NFL’s best blocking wide receivers.
Dalvin Tomlinson, defensive tackle, Minnesota Vikings
Everything regarding building a roster starts up front with the Philadelphia Eagles. Decisions have to be made on Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, Ndamukong Suh, and Linval Joseph. Most of those guys could walk, and Dalvin Tomlinson’s addition would make for a smooth transition.
