Years ago, we got to know many of the current Eagles when it was their time to shine at the NFL Combine.

Much is expected of the Philadelphia Eagles offense in the near future. Why wouldn’t it be? They’re talented with speed everywhere, and during the 2023-2023 NFL season, they used that to their full advantage versus opposing defenses.

It should surprise no one that these players first showed off their talent and speed to scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Now, while there are members of the Eagles roster that didn’t participate in every drill (and others that didn’t receive an invite to participate), there’s always one event that takes center stage, the 40-yard dash.

Newly minted 1,000-yard wide receiver DeVonta Smith didn’t get a chance to run. His Combine was canceled due to Coronavirus in 2021.

Jordan Mailata was a professional rugby player invited to try out for teams in Florida in 2018 through their International Player Pathway Program. He ran 5.12 seconds in the 40-yard dash, which would be the seventh-best time among the tackle prospects that year.

Maliata isn’t the only Birds lineman who showed guys with a big exterior can have some quick feet. Here’s a look at some of his teammates on the offensive side of the ball and what they did when they had their opportunity to show and prove during the pre-draft process.
