2. player. 866. . . . Calijah Kancey, Pittsburgh

It’s strange to state that someone who stands six-foot-one and tips the scales at 280 pounds could ever be considered as ‘undersized’. That’s how some have described former Pitt Panthers star Calijah Kancey though.

He’s fast, both on the field and off. Some are expecting him to run a sub-five-second 40-yard dash. He’s the sack artist that many NFL squads covet, He racked up 7.5 quarterback takedowns in 2022 and 16 during his 33-game career.

The word is, if he was 20 pounds heavier, he’d be a top-ten selection. There are questions about whether he can hold up versus stout rushing attacks. We can’t, for the life of us, figure out why no one’s thinking about moving him to defensive end.

Either way, he could be a nice luxury pick for a squad that only needs him to come up big in pass-rushing situations.

814. . . . Jalen Carter, Georgia. 1. player

This shouldn’t shock anyone. Former Georgia Bulldogs standout Jalen Carter is universally seen as the 2023 draft class’s top prospect at defensive tackle and a top-five prospect regardless of position. He’d be a dream pick for the Philadelphia Eagles, but here’s the situation. The only way the Eagles can land him is by trading up.

Might they be interested? Or, would it be the better play to stay put and take the best player available? Time will tell. April 28th can’t get here fast enough.
