Like Goodwin, Stanford Routt also had track and field experience, and that helped him ace his 40-yard dash.

Stanford Routt wasn’t the fastest prospect at the 2005 NFL Combine (more on that later), but he notched a very respectable 4.27-second showing which was good enough for second place.

Like Marquise Goodwin, Routt was also a solid track and field star. He earned several honors during his time at the University of Houston including being named Indoor Track Athlete of the Year by Conference USA in 2004. He’s also a two-time Champion in the 200 meters at the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships and a former All-American.

We all know how much former Raiders owner Al Davis was enamored with speed. Some might argue that it was the physical trait he valued most. He drafted Routt in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft, and in his rookie year, Routt recorded one sack, two pass deflections, and 29 tackles.

In the next six seasons with the Raiders, he collected one forced fumble, one sack, ten interceptions, a pick-six, and 215 tackles.

Stanford’s last season in the NFL came in 2012 as a member of both the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans. He only registered stats with K.C., tallying two interceptions, one forced fumble, and 29 tackles.
