Fastest 40-yard Dash Times in NFL Combine History
Rondel Menedez blew away the competition at the 1999 NFL Combine’s 40-yard dash event.
At the 1999 NFL Draft Combine, it would be the first time that electronic timing would be used during the 40-yard dash. Rondel Menendez showed off his speed that day as he registered a 4.24 time during that event.
Menedez played his college ball at Eastern Kentucky, where in his first two seasons there, he would record 821 receiving yards. During his junior season, the EKU wideout would have a stellar year by posting 1,137 yards. He carried that momentum into his senior year and tallied 1,032 yards receiving with 11 touchdowns.
The former Colonels wide receiver was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the seventh round of the 1999 NFL Draft. His moment memorable moment came when he returned a punt for a touchdown in a preseason game.
His professional career didn’t turn out as he would have liked as he bounced around to the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, Washington, and the Philadelphia Eagles. He did, however, see some on-field action albeit with the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe.
