Half-dozen Eagles who shouldn’t be brought back for 2023 NFL season
Robert Quinn leaves the Philadelphia Eagles with a relatively clean stat sheet, and that isn’t a good thing.
It’s good to gamble sometimes, as long as one knows their limit and what one can afford to lose. If you have mastered that, have at it. Some of the best minds in every industry have taken a chance at some point. Success won’t be gained without doing so, unless, of course, you were born into the right family and inherited yours… which in some cases, can still be viewed as a measure of luck.
What does that have to do with the Eagles and Robert Quinn you ask? The answer is simple. Philly gambled too. They took a chance on an aging defensive end, wagering a fourth-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft to acquire his services and add him to their roster.
In return, Quinn gave them nothing, and we do mean nothing. He registered two quarterback hits in six regular season games. He stuck his head in on two tackles during three postseason games. He tallied nary a sack. This gamble didn’t pay off.
Thank heaven that Howie Roseman didn’t wager more than the Birds could afford to lose, but don’t expect to see Quinn back in the midnight green for the next NFL season.
