Surprise, surprise! The 2023 NFL Draft nears, and who would have thunk? The Philadelphia Eagles are eyeing offensive and defensive linemen as the process of building 2023’s roster is well underway. Shocking, isn’t it?

It may seem like we have a ways to go before we arrive at the end of April, but it will be here before you know it. Time has a way of flying as we get to this juncture of the offseason schedule as Pro Days, the free agency frenzy, and pre-draft visits all tend to blur, but the business model has long been that Philly builds its offense and defense with the trenches as the foundation.

The Birds are expected to host two large human beings on pre-draft visits. One is a defensive tackle. The other is a very talented pass protector/run blocker.

Get to know Brodric Martin and Paris Johnson, They’re both on the Eagles’ pre-draft radars.

Ryan Fowler from The Draft Network reports the Eagles’ first known pre-draft visit invites Western Kentucky interior defensive lineman Brodric Martin to the NovaCare Complex for a top-30 visit. He impressed at the Shrine Bowl and is also scheduled to meet with the Kansas City Chiefs. He notched 62 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble in 26 career games.

JAKIB Sports reports by way of Jared Tokarz that former Ohio State Buckeyes standout Paris Johnson is scheduled to meet with Philly as well. He also has visits lined up with the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals.

Johnson was a Consensus All-American and a First-team All-Big Ten nod in 2022. He’ll be one of the most sought-after offensive tackles in the coming NFL Draft. Currently, we rank Peter Skoronski (Northwestern Wildcats) higher, but we’ll see if that changes as we inch closer to the end of April and the coming selection meeting.
