There are several former Eagles in the free-agent market who could turn out to be value reacquisitions.

Players come and go in the NFL. Sometimes, it’s necessary. Sometimes, it’s hard to see them go, but just because someone leaves the Philadelphia Eagles at some point in their career, it doesn’t mean the city wouldn’t welcome them back again.

History has taught us that Philly has no issue with welcoming back familiar faces, and in the 2023 free agency market, there are a lot of former Eagles who are looking for the next NFL opportunity. Just look at the backup quarterbacks that are available if you need an example: Joe Flacco, Nick Mullens, Nate Sudfeld, and Chase Daniel. All former Eagles looking to extend their playing careers for another season.

Philadelphia could be interested in bringing back Sudfeld or Daniel to serve as backups for Jalen Hurts. We hope not, but it’s an option.

Oh, and there’s another former Eagles quarterback on the market that this city can’t wait to see in the midnight green again… Carson Wentz!  Just kidding!

There isn’t any confidence that Carson would welcome a backup role or provide anything positive in terms of leadership. He’s kind of developed a reputation for being a distraction that ruins locker room chemistry.

Now, we might not want Wentz back, but there are a few former Eagles who are entering the free agency pool that might serve as inexpensive and welcome depth options. Here are three of them.
