Though we’re reminded constantly that ‘the NFL is a business’, there’s a human component that comes with being involved with the game as well. No one knows this better than Philadelphia Eagles vice president/general manager Howie Roseman. He has a tough job ahead of him, trying to determine which of Philly’s 20 impending free agents are worth making the effort to hang on to (and who should be allowed to walk).

Howie has admitted more than once that he has emotionally overpaid for players to keep guys that he’s attached to around. It’s doubtful that his latest move will be heavily criticized though.

Brandon Graham and the Philadelphia Eagles have reportedly come to terms on a one-year deal, and it appears that the veteran is happy.

According to ESPN’s Tim McManus, long-time Eagles star Brandon Graham is indeed staying home. According to McManus’ sources, B.G. has declined to enter free agency as he has decided instead to stay home and play for Philadelphia for what will be his 14th NFL season. All have been played for the Eagles.

We’re happy with the news. He’s an Eagle through and through. The deal is inexpensive yet fair. He’s still playing at a productive level.

It appears that he’s happy with the news! Check out this tweet from Josina Anderson.

B.G.’s most recent also doubles as having been his most impressive. In what was a career year, he notched a career-high in sacks (11). He also added 35 total tackles and two forced fumbles during 17 regular-season games with one start. This after he missed all but two games in 2021. He should have won the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year Award.

Graham turns 35 years old in April, but last season taught us a lot. In a reduced role, he can still provide a ton of highlight-reel moments.

He was on the field for 474 defensive snaps this past season, roughly 43% of the Eagles’ total. On a pitch count, he could be a key component in what might be another phenomenal run. His veteran leadership will be needed. We’re happy that he’s back in the fold.
