4 Philadelphia Eagles who are primed for larger roles in 2023
The Georgia Bulldog will get his chance to shine as one of the starters during the coming season.
In last year’s draft, Philly was looking for a dominant defensive tackle who could eventually replace Fletcher Cox. They chose Jordan Davis in the first round.
Davis wowed fans in the preseason and hoped that play would continue into the regular season. His first regular-season run was limited to 13 games and 224 snaps, roughly 26% of the team’s total, due to an ankle injury and a concussion. He still wound up with decent stats for his rookie year.
The Georgia alum collected 18 tackles, four quarterback pressures, one tackle for loss, and one pass deflected in 13 games during the 2022-2023 campaign. Those stats earned him a place on the Pro Football Writers of America’s All-Rookie Team for the 2022 season.
A lot of people wanted more from the first-round pick last season, but if he can stay healthy, he should continue to develop. He should be able to demonstrate to everyone why the Eagles were correct in choosing him last year.
