Eagles offseason schedule: When are OTAs, Rookie Minicamps?
Ladies and gentlemen, you have our word. Regardless of what the Philadelphia Eagles do this offseason (or elect not to do), you won’t hear any complaints from Inside The Iggles. Vice president/general manager Howie Roseman has earned our trust. Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts have done the same.
Last year, we complained when we thought Howie wasn’t being aggressive enough during free agency. Everything worked out, and he built one of the best Eagles rosters that we have ever seen. We realized that we had complained for no reason.
Then came Nick Sirianni and his decision to cancel OTAs and institute an offseason practice schedule that was free of physical contact. Again, we complained, especially when we watched the Detroit Lions host those physical practices on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Some even went so far as to state Detroit was more game ready and that they were going to push Philly all over the field. Again, things worked out.
The Eagles beat Detroit on the road in the regular-season opener and eventually qualified for a Super Bowl appearance. As it turns out, it appears Philly will also cancel some of their offseason workout program this year. Again, there will be no complaints from us. We have officially learned our lesson about doing so.
Who knew? This team doesn’t need our help when it comes to how to run this franchise.
