The upcoming season is a very important one for the futures of a few Eagles players.

Despite qualifying for the Super Bowl this season, the Philadelphia Eagles have had their work cut out for them this offseason. That work will continue during the NFL Draft. Salary cap constraints forced the Birds to lose players like linebacker T.J. Edwards, running back Miles Sanders, and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. They were able to retain many of their veteran starters and sign them to long-term deals, but some of the young guys will see increased snaps this season.

Some of these players are being promoted from rotational roles. Others are new faces from varying places and former injury safeguards from last year’s Super Bowl roster.

They are entering important seasons for their growth, seasons that may determine their futures in the NFL, but there’s a lot of boom or bust potential here beginning with a young defensive lineman everyone is beginning to get excited about.

The Eagles’ 2020 draft class has been working out great for them so far. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith has shown near-elite-level talent. Guard Landon Dickerson earned a Pro Bowl nod in his second season. Running back Kenneth Gainwell is quietly developing into a very talented dual-threat tailback. Milton Williams, however, has been stuck behind guys like Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, and Jordan Davis on the depth chart, but he figures to see the field more in 2023… maybe.

With Hargrave out of the picture, and Cox signed to a one-year deal with the Eagles but aging, Milton Williams’ snap count could increase. He has shown promise when given a chance.  He collected four sacks in just under 400 snaps last season, and he hopes to be an even bigger factor if given an expanded role with the Eagles this year.

Thankfully, he doesn’t have to do everything alone. Here are a few other teammates looking to make good on an opportunity.
