It’s almost inevitable in so many ways. Live long enough as a football junkie, and you’ll begin relating everything to the Philadelphia Eagles and/or the NFL in some way. Whether you find yourself regurgitating some of Jalen Hurts’ catchphrases in everyday conversation or checking your phone every time you receive a notification to see if the Birds have made a move, it’s easy to get lost in the comings and goings of our favorite team.

We were beginning to think that we were alone in this, and then we tuned into the Philadelphia Phillies’ home opener and caught a glimpse of what was going on during The Masters. Nope! We’re members of a much larger army. Birds fans are everywhere,

Eagles news: It’s hard to get the Birds off of your mind with Nick Sirianni throwing a strike and Masters winner Jon Rahm thanking a Super Bowl LII hero.

All we were trying to do was take in the first Phillies home game and take a break from the NFL. We swear. It wasn’t to be. There Nick Sirianni is throwing out the first pitch.

Eagles chants at Phillies games. Who would have thunk, right? Then again, that isn’t strange, but it isn’t often that you hear someone belt out ‘Go Birds’ at The Masters.

Jon Rahm earned the green jacket after capturing the 87th Masters championship, and joked that his good friend and fellow Stanford alum Zach Ertz had jinxed him.

We repeat… We apparently aren’t the only ones that have the Birds on our minds. What’s that? Zach Ertz plays for the Cardinals now? Sure… You’re right, but every now and again, there are certain guys who give life to the phrase “Once an Eagle, always an Eagle”.

For much of his NFL career, he donned the midnight green and was often considered the game’s third-best tight end behind Travis Kelce and George Kittle. Whether that’s enough to land him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame or not, three things are certain.

First, his spot in the Eagles Hall of Fame is assured. Second, he is without question an Eagle for life. Third, he’s the reason that we watch more Cardinals games than we used to. He may be a jinx to some, but he worked out pretty well in Philly.
