While we know which teams the Eagles will play during the 2023-2024 NFL season, we’d like to start locking down some dates.

If you’re a Generation X Philadelphia Eagles fan, we know what you’re thinking. Though you wouldn’t trade the era that you grew up in for anything, it would have been nice to experience some of our current luxuries earlier. We’d trade card catalogs for the internet. We could have used Instagram rather than print out some fliers. We’d even trade the stress of tracking down an NFL schedule.

Oh yeah! You remember how it worked! We used to wait on a write-up from pro football insiders that we received via email, but now there’s an NFL Network that has created a special broadcast.

We hope the coming Eagles campaign produces some fireworks. We have answered the ‘who?’.  Now, we need the ‘when?’.

When will the 2023 NFL schedule be released?

We’ve known who the opponents are for a while, but if you need a refresher, here are the Eagles’ home and road dates for 2023.

Home games

  • Washington Commanders
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New York Giants
  • Arizona Cardinals
  • San Francisco 49ers
  • Minnesota Vikings
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Miami Dolphins

Road games

  • Washington Commanders
  • Dallas Cowboys
  • New York Giants
  • L.A. Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Kansas City Chiefs
  • New York Jets
  • New England Patriots

As you can see, the Birds will play nine games on the road, the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, and the members of both the AFC East and NFC West divisions.

As for the actual NFL schedule release? At the time we hit ‘publish’ on this one, the theory is that it will be announced on Thursday, May 11th (It came on May 12th last year).

As mentioned earlier, we have come a long way from email blasts. Expect some pretty outlandish announcements from many of pro football’s 32 franchises. A year ago, we saw some rather intriguing videos from the Los Angeles Chargers and the hated San Francisco 49ers among others.
