At this juncture, you’re, no doubt, sick of mock drafts and those discussions and debates about whether or not the Philadelphia Eagles should select Bijan Robinson if they have the opportunity, Don’t worry. We totally get where you’re coming from. After all of the hullabaloo, the NFL Draft, you know the real one, can’t get here fast enough. We’ve broken this class down backward and forward and have watched more college football than we thought was humanly possible.

Lately, just to unplug, we’ve tried to get our minds off things by watching Phillies games, the first round of the 76ers’ NBA playoff series, and just about anything we can find to give our minds a rest. Guess what? As soon as we hear any notification’s ringtone, we’re immediately sucked back in. There are times we wish we weren’t. You’d be amazed at some of the stuff we have read.

One week before the draft, the news wasn’t getting any better. The Eagles are on the verge of hiring Matt Patricia.

Wait! What? Where in the heck did that come from?

Can you see what we mean now? It’s that type of news that makes you place your phone in silent mode and miss more important text messages that you needed to pay attention to. The same can be said about this next report. Who would have thunk? The Dallas Cowboys were mentioned in the headline.

Potential Eagles prospect Jahmyr Gibbs visits the Cowboys and would apparently “love the opportunity to play in Dallas”.

We’ve spent so much time debating what the Eagles should do with the tenth-overall selection that it can sometimes be easy to forget there’s another choice to be made at pick 30.

Believe it or not, when we engaged in conversations about Philly’s second choice in Round 1, the debates have been equally intense. Theories are all over the place. That’s to be expected though, right? It’s par for the course when we reach this time of year.

One of the names that we have heard (or may have tossed out there ourselves), belongs to Alabama’s Jahymyr Gibbs. According to Dallas Cowboys reporter Hailey Sutton, he visited their facility and “would love the opportunity to play in Dallas”.

And, just like that, Birds fans everywhere have taken him off their imaginary big boards, and you know what? We don’t blame you one iota.

Those are irreconcilable differences if there ever were any! This is almost unforgivable! We’re kidding of course… sort of, but you can see why Dallas is interested.

What Gibbs lacks in size (he’s five-foot-nine and tips the scales at 199 pounds), he more than makes up for in talent. After two years and 19 games total with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, he transferred to join the Alabama Crimson Tide ahead of the most recent NCAA football season.

In 12 games, he racked up 926 yards on 151 carries, 444 yards on 44 receptions, and ten total touchdowns in what would be his collegiate swan song. Most view him as the second-best tailback in this class, but some rank him ahead of Bijan Robinson.

The draft approaches, and it’s doing so quickly. It will be interesting to see how things work out.
