Quintin Mikell, a 2003 undrafted rookie free agent signing played for the Eagles for eight NFL seasons.
Following the conclusion of the 2003 NFL Draft, Quintin Mikell signed with Philadelphia. Who knew they had gotten a steal? The former Boise State star was a hit on special teams. He also started 59 of 123 regular-season appearances and five of 12 games played during the postseason.
Mikell learned from future Hall of Famer Brian Dawkins and another All-Pro safety, Michael Lewis. Quintin’s hard work didn’t go unnoticed by his teammates. They voted him the team’s Special Teams MVP in 2005 and 2006. In 2007, he assumed a starting role and remained a starter through the 2010 season.
During those four seasons, Mikell recorded 268 tackles, four forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, four sacks, and nine interceptions. He returned one fumble for a touchdown,
He was voted to the Pro Bowl in 2009. He was named a Second-team All-Pro twice (2008 & 2010). After Brian Dawkins left the city of Philadelphia, Mikell became one of the most respected and vocal leaders on the team. Well… He did learn from one of the best leaders the franchise has ever seen.
Mikell is the only Eagles undrafted defensive player to earn a trip to the Pro Bowl.
