If anyone can give the Eagles some good intel on Jalen Carter, it’s his former teammate from Georgia, Nakobe Dean.

There were a lot of pre-draft questions swirling around about Jalen Carter, and some people think the Eagles rolled the dice by picking him. Former Georgia teammate and current Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean would disagree.

By moving up and taking Carter with the No. 9 overall pick, the Eagles sent the message that they were very comfortable with his character and did their due diligence when it comes to any perceived off-field issues.

Even as late as the first day of the 2023 NFL Draft, ESPN’s Todd McShay seems to want to continue his hatchet job over Jalen Carter.

Despite all the questions, the Eagles feel they had their man. With the pick being made and some people still questioning whether or not it was a wise choice, current Eagles linebacker and former Georgia standout Nakobe Dean made sure everyone knew how he felt about Carter.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, Dean had some uplifting words for his former defensive teammate, calling Carter “the best player in the draft” this year, and adding “He wants to win. He’s going to do whatever it takes to win. He’s going to do whatever he needs for the team to win.”

He expressed a lot of excitement about being able to play alongside the big defensive lineman once again.

“I know him to be a great kid. All the critics and everybody in the media try to claim him to be a bad guy. It’s crazy to me. But I’m happy for him, and I’m ready for him to get to Philly so we can work.”

With endorsements like that, Eagles fans should feel confident that Carter is going to provide exactly what is needed to fortify an already strong defense.
