. team. 16. . . . Buffalo Bills

Like Philly, the Bills have their own dual-threat quarterback, one you may have heard of.

Philadelphia has faced the Buffalo Bills 14 times during the long and storied histories of both of these proud franchises. The Eagles have won eight of those meetings, and they look to make it three straight victories over Buffalo. After winning in upstate New York in 2019, Philly will play hosts to the AFC East champs at Lincoln Financial Field this year.

On defense, Philly’s first goal is clear. Stop Josh Allen, who is equally proficient at throwing deep bombs or tucking the ball and picking up the necessary yardage himself.

There is one flaw in Allen’s game, a chink in the armor if you will. He turns the ball over a lot. He threw 14 interceptions and lost six of 16 fumbles last season. There’s a chance he’ll give the Eagles’ offense some extra opportunities.

Buffalo’s defense isn’t too shabby. They can be stingy as they gave up the second-fewest points in the NFL last season (17.9 points per game). This unit also ranked ninth in total passing yards allowed and fourth in total rushing yards allowed.

It might be hard for the Eagles to score versus a defense as talented as this one. We’d love to see them try though, and we’d love to see them try during a primetime showdown of two outstanding teams that don’t play each other very often.
