One of the things that make holidays special is they don’t just happen every year. They happen at the same time every year. That’s why we feel like our great nation should just go ahead and officially announce that Super Bowl Sunday is a national holiday as well. That’s another story for another day. We just thought we’d throw that out there. We couldn’t go any further, however, without mentioning it’s official. The Philadelphia Eagles host the New York Giants on Christmas Day at 4:30 p.m. EST. Lincoln Financial Field is the venue. Now, how many of you thought of Boston Scott when you heard the news?

Of course you did. We all did. Boston’s mastery of the G-Men has become an annual event in and of itself. You know… like a holiday.

Boston Scott, The Giant Killer, and the Eagles host the hated New York Giants on Christmas Day.

They don’t call Boston Scott The Giant Killer for no reason. Most credit the tale’s beginning as the 2019 Eagles regular-season finale versus the G-Men. With the Birds needing a win to secure a spot in the postseason, and with Miles Sanders leaving the game with an injury, Boston stepped in and toted the rock 19 times for 54 yards. He racked up 84 yards on four receptions. Most importantly, he found his way into the end zone three times, so sure, when people think of our Giant Killer, they reminisce on that day. No one should forget about a game that came three weeks prior.

In a week 14 come-from-behind overtime win versus those same Giants, Scott racked 59 yards on ten carries, 69 receptions on six receptions, and he reached the end zone. We remember those TD catches by Zach Ertz, and rightfully so. No one should forget about Boston’s effort in that one though. Philly doesn’t win that game without him.

The mastery has only continued as Scott’s career has gone on. In total, the Eagles have played New York eight times with Scott in the lineup. They’re 6-2 in those games. Over that stretch, Scott has added  414 rushing yards, 222 receiving yards, and ten total touchdowns to his professional resume.

If he played the Giants every week, he’d be a Pro Football Hall of Famer, and yes, we expect the mastery of New York to continue on Christmas. Nothing says ‘gift’ like picking Boston Scott as an anytime TD scorer ahead of the game and making a few extra coins. Like Christmas, seeing him dominate versus Big Blue has become an annual tradition. We just have one question.

How come the Eagles don’t feature this guy in more of their other games? He’s durable. He protects the ball. He’s effective. It sounds like a damn good idea to us.
