The Eagles schedule features familiar faces and a few they don’t see as often.

Here’s a lesson that young quarterbacks learn early (and are taught for the duration of their careers). Sometimes, winning isn’t enough. How you win matters. Who you play matters. Just ask these guys.

Eagles schedule, Tier 3: The ‘good but not good enough’ category.

Daniel Jones, Geno Smith, Brock Purdy, and Kirk Cousins all helped lead their teams to the playoffs last season. Jones and Purdy won playoff games. Why is it that we don’t believe in any of them then?

Oh, come on! You know the answer to that question. We all do.

31. . . . Daniel Jones, Giants. 8. player

Well, we have learned that Brian Daboll and the New York Giants can win games with Daniel Jones. Past that, we haven’t stumbled upon anything we didn’t know prior to last season.

Jones’ legs are what makes him scary. He’s decent at play-action. There are questions about whether or not the possibility of him taking the next step is as simple as giving him weapons.

He and the Giants are married. He signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension in March, so there’s time to figure this out. Here’s what’s crazy. Some of New York’s opponents have zero issues with facing what they view as being a limited talent.  They’re just as pleased about him being back as the Giants are.

7. player. 36. . . . Geno Smith, Seahawks

We still believe Brandon Graham should have won Comeback Player of the Year, but that’s just us. Geno Smith had a great year last season and should show and prove again in 2023. You know where this is headed.

They wrote him off, but he didn’t write back.

. . . Brock Purdy? Trey Lance? ... 49ers. 6. player. 42

Brock Purdy still isn’t throwing yet as he continues to work his way back from injuries. Will he be ready for the start of the season? Everyone will be keeping an eye on him. Meanwhile, everyone seems to have forgotten the San Francisco 49ers are also home to the third overall selection of 2021’s NFL Draft.

. . Kirk Cousins, Vikings. 5. player. 60.

We have broken Kirk Cousins down for years. Then, we rebuilt him and broke him down again. How do we put this nicely?

We have no idea what the Minnesota Vikings see in this guy. He again leads the charge in 2023.
