Eagles 2023 schedule release: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions
Why does it feel like the Jets are suddenly one of the most dangerous teams on the Eagles’ schedule?
There will be no deep analysis of this one. Here’s where we stand. We don’t care about the Aaron Rodgers angle. We could care less about the improvements made both during last season and during the current offseason by Joe Douglas. Damnit, this is the Jets, and the Eagles have never lost to them in 12 previous meetings. So, put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Until we see Philly lose to the Jets, we don’t believe it will happen. We could care less about who this team fields at quarterback.
The Eagles would rather not be another rung the Dolphins climb on their way up the NFL’s ladder.
The Dolphins took an expected step forward last season. They finished above .500 with a 9-8 record. They sent four of their stars to the Pro Bowl. They even earned a postseason berth. Four more points would have bested the rival Bills in the AFC’s Wild Card Round and catapulted them into the Divisional Round.
Might this year result in a step backward? Time will tell. We hear the Jets have a new signal-caller.
Miami’s quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, missed time due to some unfortunate head injuries. Fingers are crossed that he’s healthy going forward. This matchup in Philly versus the Birds comes with some intriguing storylines, one of which is this is the first time that Jalen Hurts and Tua have met on the field in the NFL as opponents. Perhaps you have heard. They were a huge part of each other’s stories at the NCAA level.
Miami has taken two straight in this series. This feels like a game the Birds should win, but based on the fact that this is an unfamiliar opponent that Philly doesn’t see often, one we’re expecting a lot from this season, we’re going to tentatively jot this one down as a loss. We have watched enough Eagles football to know that there’s always a letdown game somewhere along the way. This is that letdown game.
