Eagles 2023 schedule release: Way-too-early game-by-game predictions
Expect this game in Landover Maryland to look very similar to the last one these two teams played.
Washington embarrassed the Birds by pushing them all over the field with a strong running game that Philly had no answer for. That kept the ball out of the hands of the talented Eagles offense, and when the Birds did have possession of the rock, they elected, at times, to hand it right back to the Commanders. Four turnovers lost would ruin any chance of an Eagles victory.
Don’t think for a second that an Eagles team that prides itself on efficiency and consistency has forgotten about that night. This year, we expect a better effort.
Here’s what this game comes down to. The Eagles, at their best, are better than the Commanders are at their best. The Birds take this one and they take the game by a wide margin.
In what has become an annual tradition, the Eagles meet the Dallas Cowboys in primetime.
After playing the Cowboys on Christmas Eve last season, we’re confused as to why Dallas gets to host the second meeting between these rivals again in 2023, but it is what it is. Philly has to win a football game here.
One of the long-time thorns in the Eagles’ side is gone, and that’s a good thing. Ezekiel Elliott was released on March 15th.
The Dallas Cowboys were 9-3 versus the Eagles with Zeke in the lineup. He ran for over 1,100 yards in those 12 games and scored six rushing touchdowns. He also caught 49 passes for 357 yards and scored another TD as a receiver. Boston Scott may be the Giant Killer, but Zeke has been no picnic for the Birds.
Philly has the better roster now, and past games have no bearing on this season. Take the Birds in this one if you’re wagering.
