Eagles toughest challenge in NFC West lies in Seahawks, not the 49ers

Don’t be shocked if the Eagles play their way into another NFC Championship Game appearance and the Seahawks are waiting for them.

By now, you have probably already committed the Philadelphia Eagles’ schedule to memory. 18 weeks… 17 games… A bye in Week 10… A murderer’s row that follows the week off. Trust us on this one. You are not alone. The Birds face a gauntlet this season.

Philly’s schedule features four games versus all three of the teams they faced during the most recent offseason. Three of those games are played in hostile territory, including one versus the Seattle Seahawks, a franchise that has been a thorn in their sides.

Every Birds fan has circled the games versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 11 and that clash versus the San Francisco 49ers that comes two weeks later, but as tough as those battles figure to be, it’s a game in Week 15 that we’ll concentrate on here.

Many believe the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys are the Eagles’ largest threats in the National Football Conference. If you agree, you may want to check out those Hawks. They aren’t an easy win on Philadelphia’s schedule by any means, but we’ll take it a step further.

No one should be shocked if Philly reaches the NFC Championship Game for a second consecutive season and they find Seattle, not Dallas or San Fran, waiting on them when they arrive. Here are four reasons to place an asterisk by their name.
