In the wake of the 2026 NFL Draft, it's easy for Philadelphia Eagles fans to feel good about the entirety of the event. Howie Roseman, as usual, made headlines in a positive way.

The Eagles look like a team that will remain competitive and in the thick of a Super Bowl hunt. With Roseman at the helm, this roster looks like it's in fantastic shape, for the most part. Eagles fans have to admire the job he's done over the years.

Still, like every other team, the Eagles have a couple of spots that look a little weaker than others. But there are some free agents who could come in and fortify those positions.

The Philadelphia Eagles should look at two key positions now that the 2026 NFL Draft is over

Quandre Diggs, S

At this stage in the offseason, the Eagles have one obvious position they should look to add talent, and that's safety. There aren't any starting-quality guys out there, in my opinion, but adding an experienced veteran to the fold would be a solid move.

Quandre Diggs would bring a pedigree that includes three straight Pro Bowls with the Seattle Seahawks in 2020-2022. He's a player that the Eagles would be able to deploy at either safety position, in a pinch, as he graded out decently both against the pass and run last season on 328 total snaps.

Diggs appeared in nine games for the Tennessee Titans and just one for the Seahawks last season. At 33 years old, he's near the end of the line. But, on an Eagles team that needs depth, he'd fit well.

Donovan Wilson, S

Another safety the Eagles could look at for some solid competition is eighth-year pro Donovan Wilson, who, before becoming a free agent, has spent his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys. That, above all else, is what would make this signing intriguing.

Wilson spent a few years on a defense that simply never put it all together, and last year, his unit was led by Matt Eberflus (go ahead and laugh out loud).

As a safety who does a lot better when he's closest to the line of scrimmage, Wilson could help fill that box safety role. At the very least, he'd offer an experienced presence to the safety room and become a strong piece of competition throughout the summer.

Just don't ask him to drop into covereage (38.8 PFF grade in 2025).

Scott Daly, LS

One position we don't talk about as much, but that could impact the game in pivotal moments, is the long snapper. For Eagles fans who may not know, they entered the NFL Draft without a legitimate starting long snapper on their roster.

After the draft, they signed an undrafted free agent, Rocco Underwood, out of Florida. At this point, it's Underwood's job to lose. And, he might end up being perfectly fine. Typically, you don't spend a draft pick on a position like long snapper.

But the Eagles will want another veteran in the room to compete with him. Scott Daly spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears and, before that, was with Ben Johnson in Detroit. That's as good a vote of confidence as any, and Daly should be on the Eagles' radar. He'd be well worth signing at this point, as one of the few remaining free agents at the position.
