5 Bengals not named Joe Burrow who can give the Eagles' defense tons of fits

Joe Burrow is good, damn good, but the Eagles must game plan for several other of the Bengals stars too.

We have been spoiled by the NFL. Seriously, how good has this regular season been? The Philadelphia Eagles frustrate us, but what else would you rather do on Sunday than park yourselves in front of a television and watch the Birds play football?

Six games are in the books. 11 remain, the first of which comes on Sunday. This one kicks off earlier than originally scheduled, but we'll be there!

A QB duel could be upon us. Jalen Hurts is again under the microscope, but if Philly is to break a jinx that began more than 50 years ago and continues, he'll need to be at his best. The guy on the other sideline is constantly battling injury, but he's also one of the NFL's top talents at the quarterback position.

He's also bringing some friends with him to the game.

Here are five Bengals to watch when Joe Burrow and company have the football.

The Bengals walked into Week 6 relatively healthy, handled the Cleveland Browns, and lost two starters to injury. We'll see what happens. In the meantime, they got some phenomenal efforts from their stars who stepped up.

Dan Pitcher is the offensive coordinator. This is his ninth season on the Bengals coaching staff and his first as their offensive coordinator. He coached QBs from 2020-23. He's charged with matching wits with the more experienced Vic Fangio.

Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins

These guys need no introduction. When we mention great receiving duos, naturally, we bring up AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith, but tandems like the one in Miami and Cincinnati also earn mentions.

Darius Slay and Quinyon Mitchell have played well this season, but Vangio rarely plays press coverage. That might mean free releases for Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Buckle up!

Orlando Brown Jr. (and Cody Ford if Brown can't go)

Some wondered if Cincy might make a move and add an offensive lineman in the wake of Orlando Brown Jr.'s calf injury. They did, electing to sign OT Andrew Coker to the practice squad and waive DT Domenique Davis from the scout team to make room.

There's no word yet as to whether or not Brown's injury will keep him out of Sunday's game. The Bengals may elect to start backup Cody Ford in his place. Depending on who gets the greenlight, they'll be forced to guard Joe Burrow's blind side.

Final thoughts

Cincinnati struggled during their opener. They scored ten points and lost to the New England Patriots. They've since rebounded. After an 0-3 start, they've won three of their last four. They now average just over 25 points per game.

This is a team that can score points and do so in a hurry. We've seen Vic Fangio's defense work Derek Carr, Deshaun Watson, and Daniel Jones. This is a better litmus test. We'll see how they do vs. a better signal caller in Joe Burrow.
