The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced 128 modern-era players nominated for the 2026 class. Several former Eagles players have made the initial list, which is set to be reduced to around 50 mid-October.
The eight Eagles who are nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame
Quarterbacks: Randall Cunningham, Jeff Garcia, Donovan McNabb
Cunningham is one of Philadelphia's best quarterbacks in franchise history, currently sitting at third for passing yards (22,877), passing touchdowns (150), and also placing sixth in career yards. While Cunningham is ranked in the top three of many Eagles statistical passing categories,
McNabb sits at the top, holding the spot warm for Jalen Hurts, who could supplant him in the next several years. McNabb helped lead the Eagles to four consecutive NFC Championship games, five total, and a Super Bowl appearance.
Garcia also lands a nomination, only spending one season in Philadelphia. Garica's 2006 season saw him lead the Eagles to a 5-1 record, including a playoff win. Garcia also played for Philadelphia in 2009 as an injury replacement, spending a couple of weeks with the team.
Running Backs: LeSean McCoy, Ricky Watters, Brian Mitchell
McCoy rushed for more than 11,000 yards in his NFL career, with his best season coming as an Eagle in 2013, when McCoy led the NFL with 1,607 rushing yards (a franchise record at the time) and earned first-team All-Pro honors. McCoy made three Pro Bowls in his six seasons in Philadelphia. He made another three Pro Bowls with the Buffalo Bills after being traded to them from Philly. McCoy totaled six Pro Bowls, along with two Super Bowl championships with the Chiefs and the Buccaneers in the final two seasons of his career.
Watters spent three seasons with the Eagles, earning Pro Bowl honors in two of them. Watters is in the top seven in Eagles history in rushing yards and touchdowns despite only playing 48 games for the franchise.
While Brian Mitchell is more known as a kick returner, he was technically a running back. It's worth noting that Watters was a semi-finalist in 2025. Mitchell is the all-time leader in punt return yards (4,999) and kick return yards (14,014), finishing his career with over 23,000 all-purpose yards.
Defensive Backs: Troy Vincent, Asante Samuel, Allen Rossum
Samuel earned three Pro Bowl nods in four seasons with the Eagles, while starting 133 games over 11 NFL seasons.
Troy Vincent earned five Pro Bowls with the Eagles as one of the best cornerbacks in franchise history. He also served as the President of the NFLPA, while remaining active in players' and community affairs since the end of his playing days. Vincent is currently the NFL's Executive Vice President of Football Operations.
Rossum was an Eagles third-round pick, spending two seasons with the team. During his tenure in the NFL, he was one of the league's best return specialists, amassing over 15,000 return yards in his career.
Specialists: Sean Landeta, David Akers
Landeta would embark on a 22-year NFL career spanning three decades. Landeta had two stints with the Eagles, being named to the franchise's 75th anniversary team.
Akers was a key figure in the Eagles' early 2000s, earning six Pro Bowls with the team. Akers also leads the franchise in points (1,323) and field goals made (294).

Bonus: Haloti Ngata
Worth noting as well that Haloti Ngata is also listed as a nominee for this class. In his lone season with the Eagles, he appeared in 13 games and had 17 tackles, including a sack, during the 2018 season. Overall, Ngata earned five Pro Bowls, five All-Pros, and a championship ring with the Ravens in 2012.
