The Philadelphia Eagles might be in desperation mode going into the 2026 offseason and need to make some splash moves to give hope that this team will get back to the Super Bowl.
That's usually where Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is at his best, as he can find the best players and secure the best possible deals for them. Roseman might run into a problem if he really wants to get him an elite edge rusher in the offseason.
While appearing on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter was asked about whether the Eagles have a real shot at getting Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby. Schefter doesn't really think the chances of that happening are high at all.
“I was told that the Raiders don’t want to trade [Maxx Crosby], and if they even contemplated it, then it would take a Micah Parsons-type package. That’s what I was told. Do I think they are getting two firsts and a player, no. Do I think they want to trade him, no. Do I think he’ll be traded like A.J. Brown [could be], that’ll change by the week… Any deal involving Maxx Crosby, I would think for the Raiders to make that deal, would take a first-round pick at minimum”.
Eagles might not be able to land Maxx Crosby in a trade in 2026 offseason
Crosby is a hot name this offseason for trade destinations with the Eagles being apart of those talks since they need an edge rusher and are pretty much always involved in trade rumors. While the Eagles would love to have a defensive end who has had 10 or more sacks in four of his seven NFL seasons, they might be better off looking at other options.
Of course, the best option for Philly is to bring back edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, as he is projected to get anywhere from $15-17 million per year in free agency. Phillips is comfortable in Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio's defense and just makes all the sense after the great work he did in the second half of the season.

It wouldn't be a surprise at all if a report comes out in the next month that says that Roseman called the Raiders about Crosby because he's always making calls, but the chances of Philly landing a guy like Crosby aren't high. The Eagles are better off giving Phillips a nice payday and keeping the already stellar defense intact.
