The last time Adoree' Jackson was a free agent, his rookie contract with the Tennessee Titans expired. He spoke with the Philadelphia Eagles about an opportunity but chose the New York Giants as his destination.
Two G-Men in particular influenced his decision. One was James Bradberry. The other was Saquon Barkley. Fast forward to the present. He and Saquon are teammates, and he is being asked to fill a void James left after his release.
Philly struck gold during the most recent NFL Draft several times over. There's something there with Will Shipley and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Jalyx Hunt is a stud. Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean are already stars who were finalists for the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award.
Like James Bradberry, Slay was informed of their release before the new league year began. Just like that, two of the veteran leaders left Philly's locker room.
Jackson is partially here to add a veteran presence to a defensive secondary that is talented but very young. Slay and Bradberry left some big shoes to fill in that regard. It sounds like Adoree' is excited for the opportunity.
Adoree' Jackson offers veteran analysis on the skill sets of two young Eagles DBs
March 19, 2025... Adoree' Jackson is introduced to select members of the Philly media. It wasn't a long conversation, one just under a dozen minutes in length, but this one was fun. None of his answers were rushed. He often took time to think about the question before providing his answer.
He spoke of his pick-six vs. Jalen Hurts in 2023 but also lamented he had more memories of a third-and-long the Giants failed to keep Philly from converting. He also didn't like the game's result (the Giants lost). He piped up and offered a smile when the conversation shifted to Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

In addition to losing Slay and Bradberry, Philly decided they'd also move on from Isaiah Rodgers and Avonte Maddox. That means Jackson joins 30-year-old Parry Nickerson and a bunch of young guys at the cornerback position.
Mitchell, DeJean, Kelee Ringo, Eli Ricks, and Tariq Castro-Fields are Jackson's teammates now. Again, the Birds have added a former Giant. Will this one have the same impact Saquon Barkley and James Bradberry had during their first years in Philly. We certainly hope so. These Birds are the reigning Super Bowl champions and have a title to defend.
