With NFL teams in the thick of the Scouting Combine, Pro Football Focus writer Nic Bodiford broke down the worst perimeter cornerbacks from the 2025, with one of them being on the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles, who, to no one's surprise, dealt with a revolving door at their second cornerback position across from All-Pro Quinyon Mitchell, utilized the services of Michael Carter II, Adoree Jackson, Jakorian Bennett, and Kelee Ringo before moving Cooper DeJean from nickel to CB2. Jackson, who would end up taking the majority of the snaps for the Eagles across from Mitchell, unsurprisingly found his way onto PFF's list of worst perimeter defenders.
"Jackson served as a defensive weak point for Philadelphia’s vaunted defense," Bodiford said. "His 53.6 PFF defense grade ranked 67th among 71 NFL cornerbacks with at least 600 defensive snaps and 10th among 11 Eagles defenders with at least 600 defensive snaps. Opposing quarterbacks aggressively threw passes into Jackson’s primary coverage. Despite benefiting from 14 off-target incompletions and/or drops, he forced incompletions neither efficiently nor voluminously."
Adoree' Jackson was one of the worst perimeter cornerbacks in the NFL
With Mitchell being a dominant force, essentially "locking down" one side of the field, opposing quarterbacks attacked Jackson aggressively in 2025. Per PFF, out of 75 graded cornerbacks (with a minimum of 345 defensive snaps), Jackson graded consistently in the back half with categories like coverage grade (52.8), targeted rate (19%), explosive pass plays allowed rate (3.6%), and missed tackles (9) all ranked 67th or worse from this past season.
Now going into his age-30 season, Jackson's time as a starting cornerback should be coming to an end. While injuries and other variables could change that, right now, Jackson's career should begin to transition to a rotational/veteran mentorship role for a young team.

With Jackson now a free agent, he could command another one-year deal slightly over the veteran minimum. In 2025, Jackson earned $1.9 million on a one-year deal, with the former first-round pick underperforming. NFL free agency begins "officially" on March 11, with the legal tampering period beginning on March 9.
