Al Michaels stated the brutal truth Eagles fans were thinking vs. Bears

As this game unfolded by the minute, Philadelphia Eagles fans sunk further and further down into the depressing reality that this team was going to lose. The Chicago Bears might have come in with the same record, but in the end, the Eagles have just as much (if not more) potential all over their roster.

And, as Philly's inevitable loss became more and more obvious throughout the game, fans were just looking the same-old reality in the face. They weren't the only ones to see it, though.

Late in the game as the Bears were again driving into the Eagles' red zone, color commentator Al Michaels finally said exactly what Philly fans had been thinking the entire afternoon:

"These teams have the same record and Philadelphia is like 'what the hell is going on out there?'"

Al Michaels perfectly summed up the 2025 Eagles during the Black Friday Football broadcast

The funny thing is, if everyone involved is being honest, Bears fans were thinking the exact same thing except wondering how Chicago was playing so well. All season long, Chicago had won close game after close game.

After the Caleb Williams touchdown pass to Cole Kmet that put the Bears up by 15, Bears fans were thinking they were living in an alternate universe. The Bears weren't supposed to beat the Eagles like this, regardless of what their record says they are.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are still the defending Super Bowl champions. So, Michael's comment was right on the money. Eagles fans can't help but wonder just what on earth is going on with this team.

Actually, there isn't a whole lot of wondering going on. It doesn't take a football genius to figure out that offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo needs to get the axe. Patullo has called mind-numbing game plans week-in and week-out.

And, wether we're talking the game plan as a whole or situational calls, it's all the same. Patullo has been downright awful.

The Eagles have been winning in spite of Patullo. Players can only run the plays that are called, and for the most part, it's been the play calling that's kept this team from achieving. It's been the defense that's kept Philly in most games and, truthfully, what's helped win most of their games.

What was going on out on that field? It's the same thing that's been going on all season long, Mr. Michaels.
