The numbers are bad for the Philadelphia Eagles' offense, and there is one main reason for the 2025 collapse: Kevin Patullo.

Philly's offensive coordinator has failed to replicate last year's success, with team stats placing the Eagles in the bottom 10 in total offense and passing, and their worst season on the ground in the Nick Sirianni era. This has led many to hope that the Birds will change the offensive coordinator and move on from Patullo.

One new option just became available for the Eagles, and it's from a familiar team. The Washington Commanders have reportedly mutually agreed to part ways with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury as part of the team's overall coaching staff overhaul under head coach Dan Quinn.

Kliff Kingsbury could help get the offense back on track

This one might be a little different from other offensive coordinator candidates out there, but Kingsbury has found success in the NFL. At one point, Sirianni interviewed Kingsbury for an offensive coordinator job before picking the Commanders.

The one good thing about Kingsbury is that he was able to get Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels off to a successful start right away in his rookie season. Some might not feel great about Daniels, since 2025 was a bad year for him, but injuries derailed his season.

Over the last two years, Kingsbury had the seventh-ranked offense in the NFL and was fifth in scoring. Those numbers dropped drastically in 2025, as they were 22nd in scoring and total offense.

A potential concern with Kingsbury is that he runs a more college-style offense and isn't the most balanced in his play-calling. He would prefer to pass it more often, and as Eagles fans know, Philly has to give the ball to Saquon Barkley as often as possible to be successful.

There will be some interesting decisions for Kingsbury as he's expected to get head coaching interviews and should get calls to be an offensive coordinator. Sirianni might need to consider Kingsbury as a real option seriously.
