Best storylines birthed from the Eagles' Week 15 win vs. Steelers

This one made us smile and gave us a lot to talk about.

What a win! At the risk of scaring friends and family by potentially birthing a 'jinx', the Philadelphia Eagles are going to be tough to beat if they play like they did vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Philly almost doubled the Steelers in time of possession. The Birds held the ball for 39:52 compared to 20:08 for Pittsburgh. Ten straight regular-season wins... It hasn't happened before during an Eagles season.

Philly will have to wait until next week to clinch the NFC East. They still have a lot to be proud of. Here are the top Week 15 storylines.

Eagles ended the game in their victory formation thanks to a ten-minute drive.

Pittsburgh was down by 14 points. They punted and pinned the Birds at their own six-yard line with 10:29 remaining. They never got the ball back. Philly rattled off a 21-play drive that drained all of the game time off of the clock.

This one ended with a Jalen Hurts kneel. That's impressive seeing as how the Steelers are undoubtedly home to one of the NFL's top defenses.

Philly finally beats Russell Wilson.

Russell Wilson walked into this one undefeated vs. the Eagles in six previous meetings (including one playoff tilt). Philly hung a loss on him today.

That's it. That's the take.

Mike Tomlin still hasn't won in Philadelphia as a head coach.

Mike Tomlin is a legendary head coach. There is no denying that, but while Philly ended the Russell Wilson jinx, Tomlin's jinx in the City of Brotherly Love continues.

He is now 0-4 vs. the Eagles in Philadelphia. This one ranks as one of the most satisfying we have seen.

Big Play Slay helps kill some Steelers momentum.

Slay isn't a spring chicken anymore which makes his showing this season even more impressive. Last week vs. the Carolina, he only allowed two receptions on 11 targets. He also broke up two fourth quarter passes. Both ended drives on fourth down.

He made one of the game's best plays on defense. The Steelers were driving for a potential game-tying TD. Najee Harris fumbled. Slay pounced on the ball (which doesn't happen for Philly's defense very often). The Eagles' ensuing drive ended with a TD that extended their lead to 14.

The Steelers never recovered.

Kenneth Gainwell is a more than capable complement to Saquon Barkley.

For the record, we have never doubted Kenneth Gainwell's ability to be a good complimentary back. He isn't Saquon Barkley, but come on! Who is?

Kenny G played beautiful music today. How about those moves?

He finished this one with 20 yards on seven carries, 40 yards on three receptions and two HUGE conversions to move the chains.

A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both exceed 100 yards receiving and score receiving TDs.

We won't say the passing game is 'fixed', but this is a huge step in the right direction. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both exceeded 100 yards receiving a scored TDs. DeVonta's 11 receptions equal a career best.
