With the offseason rolling on, trade rumors are swirling around the Philadelphia Eagles and their star wide receiver, A.J. Brown.

During the season, the Eagles had to deal with Brown sending cryptic tweets, making comments on a stream, getting into it with head coach Nick Sirianni on the sidelines, and refusing to speak to reporters after the NFC Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

After all the turmoil of the 2025 season, everyone and their mothers believe Brown and the Eagles are headed for a divorce, with a trade partner to be found. An odd trade partner, though, was proposed, and not many Philly fans saw it coming.

Eagles could trade A.J. Brown to familiar face

Bleacher Report writer Alex Ballentine went through all 32 NFL teams and shared their top three trade targets. There were a few teams that had Brown on their list, but one stood out as an interesting landing spot: the New Orleans Saints.

"A.J. Brown is the lone exception when it comes to big names. Tyler Shough delivered a promising rookie season and Chris Olave's availability is often in question. Brown and the Philadelphia Eagles have had a publicly tense relationship and the team that would receive him in a trade would be getting a very team-friendly deal.

Brown has familiarity with Kellen Moore from his time as the Eagles offensive coordinator. A healthy Olave and Brown would immediately become a dangerous force multiplier for the Saints passing game."

In a way, this makes sense for the Saints, since Brown can jump right back into Moore's 2024 offense, given the familiarity. On the other hand, Saints quarterback Tyler Shough looks like he could be a guy, but New Orleans is still somewhat far off from being Super Bowl contenders.

For the Eagles, a deal with the Saints would be great, as any draft pick or picks they receive from New Orleans would be in a decent position. Philly most likely won't get a first-round pick, but acquiring a second-round pick would still be good for the Eagles to have. That pick could be used to either move up in the first round or Philly can sit on it and find Brown's replacement.

There's still a lot of mystery about whether the Eagles are willing to trade Brown, but the Saints would make an interesting fit and should be considered.
