The Philadelphia Eagles managed to shut down the Chicago Bears' passing attack this past Black Friday, but it was an otherwise bleak afternoon for their defense in a 24-15 loss.
Chicago's revamped offensive line overcame another scattershot passing performance from Caleb Williams to help D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai rack up a combined 255 yards on 40 carries.
This iteration of the Iggles looks eerily similar to the team from two seasons ago that started 10-1, only to collapse to 11-6 and crash out of Wild Card Weekend. One prominent NFL analyst is calling out Philly's big issue that must be addressed quickly.
Brian Baldinger scolds Eagles' lack of physicality in lame-looking loss to Bears
NFL Network's Brian Baldinger is renowned for diving into the film and dissecting the nuances of anything from quarterback play to technique across the trenches. His appearance on Philadelphia's 94WIP SportsRadio was decidedly off-brand for him.
Baldy went in on the Eagles for not taking the fight to the Bears as they marched up and down the field on them at will by pounding the rock.
"I know it's Black Friday. Maybe everybody thought we should be like shopping at the Cherry Hill Mall or something. But I didn't see a single hit in that game. Nobody smacked anybody. I mean, Philadelphia fans have seen bad football, but at least if we see some hittin' out there, we're gonna be a little bit more charged up than what they were."

Near the top of the clip, Baldinger alluded to the massive hit Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart took on the sidelines against the Patriots, who are 11-2 and reigning supreme in the AFC.
There's no question Philadelphia has the talent to be where the Bears sit as the NFC's No. 1 seed. Heck, if not for the head-to-head tiebreaker they just surrendered, they'd only be a single game back. But here we are, with the Eagles having a far superior roster yet not achieving what they should be.

The good news is there's still a bit of regular season left to figure things out. What would help is the Eagles' bland offensive scheme getting with modern times a little bit. That'd put the defense in a better position to succeed, rather than being on the field for so long and getting gassed and gashed on the ground.
