Philadelphia Eagles center/guard Cam Jurgens was such a great replacement for Jason Kelce when he retired. But the last two seasons haven't gone well, and 2026 has been a disaster.
Things at center were already shaky with Jurgens after he was called for two penalties in the Eagles' 24-22 Week 1 win over the Washington Commanders. Landon Dickerson's injury forced Jurgens to move to left guard, with Drew Kendall moving up to start at center.
Jurgens' first start at left guard in the 24-20 win over the Tennessee Titans was not good, getting beaten on six of the 43 pass-blocking opportunities while allowing three pressures and one sack. The hope was that Week 3 against the Chicago Bears would go much better. Spoiler alert: it didn't.
Cam Jurgens' season is taking quite the tumble with Eagles
In the 27-7 blowout loss to the Bears, Jurgens allowed the most pressures of any Eagles lineman: four. His replacement at center, Kendall, allowed none in 33 pass-blocking snaps, according to NBC Sports Philly's Ryan Fowler.

Drew Kendall at center pitched a shutout in 33 pass pro snaps.
Pro Football Focus has delivered more disturbing numbers from Jurgens' 2026 season. Through four games, he has allowed seven pressures, one quarterback hit, and one sack in 112 pass-blocking snaps, while also being called for three penalties.
He has an overall PFF grade of 48.9, ranking 63rd out of 73 qualified guards. He also has a pass-blocking grade of 32.2 (ranked 66th) and a run-blocking grade of 62.1 (ranked 35th)
This is not the same guy Eagles fans saw in 2024, when he dominated his way to a Pro Bowl selection and helped the team win the Super Bowl. That injury he suffered late in 2024 really affected his play afterward, and he wasn't good in the 2025 season either, despite earning a second Pro Bowl selection.
Jurgens got some help in the offseason for his back issues and told everyone that he had never felt better before the season, so what has happened? Has he lost all his confidence on the offensive line now?
His excuse that he didn't know the left guard position worked for one week, but it feels like he's not getting any better. He played right guard in the past, so it couldn't be that different from left guard.
It has gotten to the point that Willie Lampkin is being called by fans to play left guard and Jurgens to either be at center or get benched. Jurgens is simply a liability at left guard at this point.

The Eagles are going to have to do something at this point because it is affecting the offense. It is also affecting how Jurgens will play moving forward without having much confidence.
