Dallas Goedert earns a chuckle from Saquon Barkley thanks to a practical joke
How about this Philadelphia Eagles team? We've come a long way from that arse-kicking handed to us by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The vibes are high now. They certainly weren't as we walked into the bye in Week 5.
Now, many factors played into that loss. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both missed that game. Philly hadn't quite found its traction yet, but they've been on fire since returning from an early bye week.
Dallas Goedert and Saquon Barkley share a laugh thanks to what might be the practical joke of the year.
Seven straight wins since the bye... Yep. That will certainly ease the tension found in the locker room. We were very critical of this Eagles team, but we were for two reasons:
We wanted to see them win, and we knew they had these types of performances in them.
Kellen Moore and Vic fangio have learned what their players do well. The result has been better schemes, better coaching, and better performances.
The stressful looks on players faces have been replaced with smiles and laughter. They're even having a little fun when they have some down time.
The 'I've been tested enough' comment comes from one of the few low points of the current winning streak. Following an impressive performance vs. the Cleveland Browns, Saquon found an NFL-issued drug test in his locker. It appears he may have played so well even league offices were captivated by his superhuman ability, but come on guys. A drug test? Really?
We probably took more offense to that than Mr. Barkley did. Oh well... It's over, and the Birds moved on. Maybe that means we should too, but here's where we'll leave this.
Seeing this team come together has been a joy to watch. Seeing them have fun with something that could have been seen as a negative certainly put a smile on our faces.
We're moving on to the Baltimore Ravens. They field a couple of superheroes of their own. One is the reigning MVP, Lamar Jackson. The other is the biggest threat to Saquon Barkley winning the rushing title, 'The King', Derrick Henry.
