The Philadelphia Eagles' offensive issues have been talked about ad nauseam lately. Yes, they've failed to score more than 17 points in four of their last six contests. Yes, star wide receiver A.J. Brown seems unhappy, and there are rumors circulating about the team's affinity for Jalen Hurts.
But the Eagles are winning. There's so much drama surrounding this team that it feels like fans are forgetting it's currently 8-2 and atop the entire NFC. Plus, there are more ways to win a football game than just scoring a lot of points.
Philadelphia is currently on a four-game winning streak, and its last two victories have come against strong NFC North teams, in primetime, no less. They scored just 10 and 16 points in these two contests, but the offense did just enough to win.
Dan Orlovsky thinks Eagles' offense will hold them back from Super Bowl
Is scoring that few points sustainable? Time will tell. Vic Fangio and the defense are playing at such an incredibly high level right now that it almost feels like the offense could be worse, and the Eagles would still come out on top.
But Philly fans aren't concerned about winning regular-season games. This fan base has Super Bowl aspirations once again. ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, however, said what fans are afraid to admit about what the Eagles' offensive struggles could mean for their chances of running the table again.
"No, this offense is not good enough to win the Super Bowl for a second straight year."Dan Orlovsky on Eagles
Orlovsky spoke with his co-hosts on NFL Live about how the Eagles seem unwilling to install simple concepts like bunches and rub routes to free up players like Brown and Devonta Smith. Nobody thinks Kevin Patullo is Kellen Moore, but he can certainly do more than he's done for the offense.
He went on to explain the exact reasons he believes Philadelphia's offense is not good enough to win a Super Bowl, and, unfortunately, they are pretty damning. It's one thing to win games and be blissfully unaware, but fans can't delude themselves into these simple facts.
"Right now, this is why I say this offense can't win the Super Bowl, is it's the deadly combination of two things: way too many three-and-outs, and not nearly explosive enough," Orlovsky said. "Right now, three-and-outs, they're the worst in the NFL. I can have you be a three-and-out offense if you're unbelievably explosive. They're worse than middle of the pack when it comes to explosive plays. Or, I can have you just be an explosive offense if you're crazy efficient. But they're neither. ... That's not gonna be good enough against teams like (the) LA (Rams), teams like the Seattle Seahawks. It's gonna come back to bite them unless they fix it."
His points are well-taken, and there are definitely some things to address on offense. Duh. But outside of a fluke loss to the New York Giants, the Eagles have run the table against the NFC. They've beaten the Rams, the Buccaneers, the Packers, the Lions, and the Chiefs.

It's not like the Eagles are skating by with a fourth-place schedule. They're playing the NFC North and the AFC West this season, and a first-place schedule in the conference. Orlovsky's warnings are heeded, but at this point, they still feel a bit baseless unless Philly starts dropping more games.
