The painful memory appears to still be living on with Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn from last season that was sealed and delivered by the Philadelphia Eagles.
Many Eagles fans would put the Commanders game on replay after blowing them out 55-23 to make their second Super Bowl in three years. Philly dominated Washington in every aspect of that game with 459 total yards of offense, four turnovers created, 229 rushing yards, and scoring seven touchdowns on seven red zone appearances.
It's a game that will go down in history as one of the best performances by the Eagles. That's a game Quinn won't forget either.
Quinn still thinks about the pain of that Eagles-Commanders playoff game
While speaking with the Washington media, Quinn discussed the playoff loss and how he doesn't want to forget the pain of it.
"Eagles game, yes, Thank you for not bringing up the other ones, yes. Like most things, there's a process that you want to go through to get there and the after actions are important. You don't want to lose the pain of a game like that. There's lessons that you wanted to take from it."
Quinn would later go on to say that he doesn't want to replicate it; he wants to build off it. This is a big reason he doesn't want himself or his players to forget about the game.

During the regular season last year, the Eagles and Commanders split the series down the middle, with the playoff game being the deciding game of who won the series in 2024. Philly was happy to be on the right side of that conversation.
The 2025 season won't be any different, as the Eagles and Commanders are two of the favorites to not only win the NFC East but also win the NFC. Washington has kept most of the core players from last year, while the Eagles revamped the defense with a much younger-looking unit, with nine of the 11 starters being 25 years old or under.
This season won't be easy for the Eagles, as they have one of the toughest schedules of the season. That includes playing the Commanders twice in the last three weeks of the year, with the Buffalo Bills being sandwiched in between them.

While every game might not necessarily count in the NFL, every matchup against the Commanders counts for the Eagles for bragging rights, and if they want to win the division and conference, they need to go through Washington.
