Throughout training camp, all the talk was that Darius Cooper was making plays for the Philadelphia Eagles. Well, the fan base finally got to see it in a regular season game with his incredible game-winning touchdown to beat the Tennessee Titans 24-20.
Cooper only got two catches for 26 yards, but his touchdown catch was as impressive as it gets. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw a high pass in the back of the end zone, but Cooper climbed the ladder and got the score that they needed with nine seconds left in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
The Eagles fan base has been waiting over a year to see Cooper become one of the top receivers on the team. It appears that the moment has finally arrived for him.
Darius Cooper finally got his signature moment as the Eagles' wide receiver
Cooper was a surprise out of training camp, but he won the hearts of every Eagles fan and even within the coaching staff. He made the 53-man roster and was mainly a special-teams guy. Cooper finished the season with nine receptions for 92 yards.
This year, things were very different for Cooper, as A.J. Brown was traded and the wide receiver room saw a makeover. Cooper and DeVonta Smith were the only receivers from 2025 who stayed on the team. That made it imperative for Cooper to impress his first-year offensive coordinator, Sean Mannion, and he certainly did.
Throughout training camp, Cooper made highlight plays daily and earned Hurts' respect. It got to the point where Hurts kept bringing up Cooper even when he wasn't asked about him.
In the 24-22 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 1, Cooper didn't catch a pass, but he made four special teams tackles. He looked like he earned more snaps on offense.
That's exactly what happened in the Titans game, and he earned the biggest play of the season: the game-winning score. Cooper's catch will get him on the field more often and improve his chances of getting more offensive snaps.

The Eagles are very lucky that they have Cooper on the team and made the critical play to make them 2-0 on the season. This feels like the beginning of what could be an incredible run for the former undrafted free agent.
