DeVonta Smith sets a new standard in Philly, surpassing the great Harold Michael in the process.

We've always known DeVonta Smith was special. Sure, there was that thing about his slim physique. That worried us some, but once he assured us that 'he had been slim all of his life', we felt better about things. He won a Heisman Trophy and played his final season at Alabama with the Crimson Tide like he was a cheat code. That's how you wind up as the tenth player taken in the NFL Draft.

His career with the Philadelphia Eagles has been special. He's already shown he is one of the best talents at the position this franchise has ever seen.

The first half of the Birds' playoff tilt vs. the Los Angeles Rams left much to be desired from an offensive standpoint, other than a phenomenal run by Jalen Hurts and another by Saquon Barkley.

We can smile about our guy Smitty though. He just climbed past a franchise legend in the record book.

DeVonta Smith has the most postseason receiving yards in Eagles history.

Say Harold Carmichael's name, and it's impossible not to smile. He's one of the most beloved players in Eagles history. He's also a Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee.

Anytime an Eagles receiver can be mentioned in the same breath with him, it's an honor. DeVonta Smith can now say he has surpassed him.

Harold Carmichael notched 465 postseason receiving yards between 1971-83. DeVonta's 14 receiving yards vs. the Rams (and counting) places him in the top spot of that category.

Congratulations to the Slim Reaper, but no one will care about this if the Eagles don't win.
