The NFL coaching carousel has been a wild one, with 10 head coach openings, but those jobs are starting to fill up.
One of the latest to be filled was the Miami Dolphins hiring Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley as their head coach. That, in return, might end up doing more harm to the Philadelphia Eagles, as a job has opened up on the Packers.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Packers will be interviewing Eagles defensive backs coach and pass game coordinator Christian Parker for the defensive coordinator opening. Parker is also interviewing for the Dallas Cowboys' defensive coordinator job before heading to Green Bay.
Rising star Christian Parker might be out of Philadelphia soon enough
It would be a crushing blow to the Eagles' coaching staff to lose Parker, but it would be an expected outcome. Parker has been a popular name this offseason for defensive coordinator openings as one of the rising stars among the assistants.
His work over the last two years alone speaks for itself with how he has turned guys like Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean into All-Pros in just two seasons. Parker is also responsible for making undrafted safety Reed Blankenship into a starting-caliber player as well.
The Eagles always knew this would be a possibility from the moment he was hired by defensive coordinator Vic Fangio in 2024. Parker has a previous connection with the Packers, having served as the defensive quality control coach in 2019 and 2020 before joining the Denver Broncos.

It's only a matter of time before one of the NFL teams, including the Cowboys or Packers, ends up hiring Parker to run their defenses. The Eagles will hate losing him, but it's a small price to pay for success in this league.
