The Philadelphia Eagles finally got the offensive lineman they have been needing to select all draft, and it took three rounds to get it done.
In the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Eagles selected Miami offensive tackle Markel Bell. What makes this pick so big for Philly is, well, how big he is as he stands 6-foot-9 and nearly 350 pounds, giving them the size they have not seen often.
FanSided's Levi Dombro shared his thoughts on what Eagles fans can expect with Bell being on the team.
"Bell is one of the biggest prospects in this class at 6-foot-9 and 346 pounds with staggering 36 and 3/8-inch arms. You can't teach that. Plus, he's a good mover, especially in the run game, for his size. His high center of gravity naturally leads to him leaning forward at times, and he struggles against speed. But Bell is big and physical and showed lots of improvement in 2025, so it is intriguing to bank on that continued upward trajectory."
Eagles got a good one in Markel Bell
The Eagles, of course, needed someone who could eventually replace Lane Johnson at right tackle, which could have been part of the reason Philly made the selection. Bell has great size and wouldn't have to deal with being Jalen Hurts' blindside, and can focus more on just blocking in general.
For the time being, Bell is a great depth player for the Eagles' offensive line after the line's tough losses. Philly had to see Brett Toth and Matt Pryor walk to other teams in free agency.

There is some development needed for the Eagles, and offensive line coach Chris Kuper needs time to work with Bell, but if this works out, it will be a great selection for the Eagles and really set up the future.
