The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a fourth straight loss after the Carolina Panthers took them down in Week 6, prompting many to start thinking about the future.

Philly sits at 2-4, and with key injuries like Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, things don't look good for the Eagles. In fact, this team is in trouble of making the postseason and could be looking at a very high draft pick in 2026.

No one wants to start talking about punting the 2026 season and focusing on the 2027 campaign; it's not easy to have that conversation after seeing the, but you can't avoid that kind of product on the field. That's why we are going ahead and taking a look at how things are looking for the Eagles in the 2027 NFL Draft.

Eagles' 2027 NFL Draft outlook after Week 6 action

Top 10 draft pick order (via Tankathon)

1. Los Angeles Chargers (0-6)
2. Miami Dolphins (0-5)
3. Tennessee Titans (1-5)
4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-5)
5. Washington Commanders (1-3-1)
6. New York Jets (originally Dallas Cowboys) (2-4)
7. Philadelphia Eagles (2-4)
8. Houston Texans (2-4)
9. Arizona Cardinals (2-4)
10. New York Jets (originally Indianapolis Colts) (2-4)

The Eagles moved up three spots to No. 7 in the draft order after losing their fourth straight. It is currently the third-longest losing streak in the NFL.

This is shaping up to be where the Eagles will finish: in the top 10 of the NFL Draft. They are in prime shape to land there if they keep losing the way they have been.

Eagles' 2027 draft picks (as of Week 7)

  • First Round Pick
  • Second Round Pick
  • Third Round Pick (Projected Compensatory Pick after losing Jaelan Phillips)
  • Fourth Round Pick
  • Fifth Round Pick
  • Fifth Round Pick (From Ravens via Cam Jurgens Trade)
  • Fifth Round Pick (From Patriots via A.J. Brown Trade)
  • Seventh Round Pick (From Either Jets, Ravens, or Cowboys)

The Eagles have much more ammunition in the 2028 draft, including two first-round picks and two second-round picks. They could use those in trades to get higher picks in 2027, but for now, Philly will have eight to work with in the upcoming draft.

Potential first-round draft prospects for Eagles to watch for in 2027

South Carolina defensive end Dylan Stewart has the talent to be an elite pass rusher, but he has character concerns after arguing with and ignoring his coaches earlier in the season. Beyond that, he has 12 career sacks and the physical tools to be a great edge rusher. He is considered a top-10 pick in 2027 and someone many people have attached to the Eagles, since they have been known to go after players with character concerns and mature them within the franchise.

Another edge rusher who is safer for the Eagles is Texas' Colin Simmons, who has 10.5 sacks this year. Simmons feels like a guy who would thrive and help out right away in case the Eagles move on from either Jalyx Hunt or Nolan Smith Jr. It also gives them a security blanket for Jonathan Greenard since he is not looking like a great trade so far.

It's hard not to think about Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and what he could bring to the Eagles' offense alongside DeVonta Smith and Dontayvion Wicks. Jeremiah Smith leads the nation in receiving yards (984) and touchdowns (12), leading many to believe he will be a top-five pick. If the Eagles keep struggling, they might have a shot at him.

Eagles fans may not want to talk about this, but we do have to consider the quarterbacks in this draft and see if there is a better option than Jalen Hurts. Texas' Arch Manning and Oregon's Dante Moore look like the best options right now, but Manning has struggled with two straight losses, and Moore is out with a serious concussion. Something might be off with them, but the Eagles may be hesitant to pick a quarterback high in the draft.

The offensive line will be a big part of the Eagles' 2027 draft strategy. Minnesota guard/center Greg Johnson, LSU tackle Jordan Seaton, and Iowa guard Kade Pieper are just a few of the names the Eagles should consider in the first round if they want to go offensive line.
