The Philadelphia Eagles are nearing the start of the 2025 training camp with hopes and aspirations to repeat as Super Bowl champions.

Many of the storylines going into training camp are the youth of the defense and how they will respond to the multiple veterans who departed. One other storyline is how the new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo will handle his first training camp as the play caller.

Every Eagles fan's first and foremost question pertains to who will make the final roster. One that might not make the cut is a former first-round pick.

Here's a look at our projected 53-man roster for the Eagles entering training camp:

Early Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster prediction as 2025 training camp opens

Quarterback (3): Jalen Hurts, Tanner McKee, Kyle McCord

Hurts has total command of the quarterback position, and McKee is an easy number two selection. The real battle is between McCord and Dorian Thompson-Robinson, with the edge given to the rookie since the Eagles handpicked him in the sixth round. Plus, McCord has been turning heads over Thompson-Robinson at offseason workouts.

Running Back (3): Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley, AJ Dillon

There's no question at the top with Barkley, but whether Dillon can return to form from his neck injury. Watch for ShunDerrick Powell to make some noise as the number four if the Eagles decide to bring in four backs instead of three.

Wide Receiver (6): A.J Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jahan Dotson, Terrace Marshall Jr., Ainias Smith, Johnny Wilson, Danny Gray

The Eagles held six receivers on their roster last season and are expected to do the same in 2025. Gray is the sleeper of the group to move up on the depth chart, but the battle at number three is between Dotson and Marshall.

Tight End (3): Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra, Kylen Granson

Goedert and Calcaterra are solid at their positions, but the third tight end spot is wide open. Granson has the advantage over Harrison Bryant in terms of age and has shown better hands over the last year.

Offensive Line (10): Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Lane Johnson, Myles Hinton, Trevor Keegan, Drew Kendall, Matt Pryor, Kendall Lamm

Steen is the only question mark in the starting lineup at right guard, not because of a position battle, but because he hasn't been a full-time starter yet despite experience on the line. The one player left off is Kenyon Green, who the Eagles traded as part of the C.J. Gardner-Johnson trade with the Houston Texans. Keegan has the LG2 spot over Green.

Defensive Line (5): Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Ty Robinson, Thomas Booker IV

The only real question for the defensive line is, who is the fifth tackle to make the team? Booker has the slight advantage over Byron Young and Gabe Hall with more experience in the defense.

Edge Rushers (5): Nolan Smith Jr., Jalyx Hunt, Azeez Ojulari, Josh Uche, Antwaun Powell-Ryland Jr.

This has been the one point of question outside of Smith. Who makes the roster at edge is less of a question as it is more about who will step up to replace Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham.

Inside Linebackers (5): Zack Baun, Nakobe Dean, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Smael Mondon Jr.

Another defensive position where there aren't any real questions of who makes the roster. It's about whether Campbell can recover from his injury quickly and Trotter take the next step in his development in Year 2.

Cornerback (6): Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Kelee Ringo, Adoree' Jackson, Mac McWilliams, Eli Ricks

Ringo and Jackson are battling for the starting cornerback spot on the outside. Other than that, these six players seem pretty secure with making the roster.

Safety (4): Reed Blankenship, Sydney Brown, Andrew Mukuba, Tristin McCollum

Brown, Mukuba, and McCollum are all fighting for the starting safety job alongside Blankenship. There's a chance DeJean will be rotated into the lineup at safety as well this season.

Special Teams (3): Jake Elliott, Braden Mann, Charley Hughlett

No questions here as Elliott, Mann, and Hughlett are secure. It's now about making sure the operation is secure with the new long snapper and Elliott can be more consistent at the beginning of the season.
