Eagles aim to extend streak vs. Rams in classic strength vs. weakness clash

The Eagles will hit the road in Week 12 after taking over first place in the NFC East. The odds appear to be in their favor.

Another Sunday approaches. For the second time in as many weeks on the NFL schedule, the Philadelphia Eagles are playing in prime time. They hope to extend their winning streak. They have won six straight since their bye week. Now, they fly west to touch down (in more ways than one) in Los Angeles.

If history is any indication, things stack up well for Philadelphia. During Nick Sirianni's tenure, the Birds are 22-9 while playing the role of 'visitors'. They've only lost once on the road this season, in Week 4 vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Eagles and Rams both hope to maintain relevancy in the NFC's playoff push. Fans who are tuning in should expect a battle.

The stats demonstrate the Eagles rushing attack will be too much for Rams to handle.

It's no surprise that running back Saquon Barkley has been red hot this season. He has notched
1,137 yards and eight touchdowns and has been an integral part of the Eagles offense.

His contribution has helped Philadelphia post the highest rushing yards per game average league-wide. They have eclipsed 100 yards rushing in each contest. The Rams rank 25th among NFL teams vs. the run, making for a very lopsided 'strength vs. weakness' matchup.

Worth mentioning: Keep an eye on the Eagles rookie cornerbacks.

Philadelphia, as you know, fields two starters in their defensive secondary. Both have made quite a name for themselves this season.

Most teams would feel lucky knowing they have one Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate. The Philadelphia Eagles can hang their hat on something. They are fortunate to know that they have two.

Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell have played like established veterans while making some of the game's top players look like they're the ones who are inexperienced.

Since DeJean's first start in Week 6, he's only earned a PFF grade below 70.6 once. Mitchell is the only cornerback in the NFL to have exceeded 375 coverage snaps without allowing a passing touchdown to an opposing quarterback.

The twosome has its hands full with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua coming up, but here's what needs to be mentioned. Kupp and Nacua have their hands full as well.

The Eagles continue to establish themselves as one of the best teams in the league this season. A seven-game winning streak is attainable. They are the best team the Rams have faced so far during their campaign.
