This Jalen Hurts situation is just not getting any better for the Philadelphia Eagles, and they continue to fumble at every turn.

Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, released a statement with the Eagles on Monday stating that the blood clots have moved up into his lungs and that he is being treated with blood thinners, but is expected to make a full recovery. Shortly afterward, multiple insiders reported that Hurts was done for the season, since it's a minimum three-month recovery time. Insiders later added that Hurts was in the hospital the night before the Week 5 Jacksonville Jaguars game and got some rest before kickoff.

After that news, everyone was calling on the Eagles to explain what led them to believe letting Hurts travel with a blood clot in his calf was safe, and what the timeline looked like. The organization doesn't seem interested in saying much for now, instead trotting out head coach Nick Sirianni in front of the media and basically feeding him to the wolves.

Nick Sirianni faces the music after Eagles-Jalen Hurts blood clot situation

Sirianni met with the media on Monday, and the first five minutes of the Zoom availability focused on Hurts and getting answers about the situation. The Eagles head coach made it clear early on that he and the organization care only about Hurts' health.

"The health of our players is always at the forefront of our minds. We'll leave that up to the medical experts. We always care deeply about our players."

Things got tense when The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane pressed Sirianni for more details. The two started talking over each other, and at one point Sirianni looked off-screen, making it clear he trusts the team doctors.

"I'm not a medical expert," Sirianni said via The Athletic's Zach Berman. "I lean on our guys in all those situation. I'm a football coach. I lean on our medical experts in every situation. I have full trust and full faith in them. It's not just me that has major care for our players."

Why would the Eagles leave Nick Sirianni to fend for himself?

This is where everyone is questioning how the Eagles are handling the situation. Sirianni is right; he's not a medical expert and should not have to answer questions about the thought process behind letting Hurts travel and play with a blood clot.

That said, Sirianni should still have to sit up there and answer for it, but he shouldn't be alone. Where's the team doctors? Where's Howie Roseman? Where's Jeffrey Lurie?

Someone higher up than Sirianni should answer these questions, not a guy strictly focused on the Xs and Os. Clearly, Sirianni has enough on his plate, with the Eagles behind after losing their fourth straight game, and the Carolina Panthers handing it to them.

It feels like the Eagles are trying to make Sirianni the fall guy and aren't helping him. We know this can't be 100% true, but with the franchise being so silent, what should the public think of the situation?

The Eagles feel like they can sweep this under the rug and people will eventually forget it. When the national media covers the franchise quarterback, it won't be easy to bury. For a team that has thrived on handling drama over the years, they turned this disaster into something even worse than it already is.
